Barbaro

His name is Barbaro because he could have won it all if it weren't for a gruesome injury that ended up costing him his life. I've got a new wheel set in the mail, a new paint job lined up, and plans for a new saddle and bars.

Thanks for the memories Barbaro. You're responsible for igniting the fire, but it's time for a new colt to carry the torch.

wait, you're killing Barabaro? Just after naming him?

is that bar-baro or bar-ba-ro? And Keith is right...do we have to name another bike? Are you doing this just because of the insane amount of comments you get on your blog?

Haha, it's Bar-ba-ro, after the horse that shattered his leg in the Preakness after winning the Kentucky Derby. And I'm not killing him just after naming him; I'm naming him just after he died. The treads on the rear hub have been stripped, meaning I can't ride it as a fixed gear. Sort of like a shattered leg. So I got new wheels (with a better hub and lockring that won't get ruined in a month). Also, one of my students is providing me a real paint job for real cheap. So pretty soon it won't even look like the same bike. You won't have to name it. Maybe I'll bring it to a Native American Cheif or something.

You should name him Lazarus. End of story.
